Also known as a letter of intent or concept paper, a LOI is often your first opportunity to share information about your potential project with a funding foundation.
Your LOI should be concise yet engaging, adhere to funder guidelines, and succinctly describe your project and how it relates to the funder's mission and priorities. Avoid unnecessary jargon and subjective statements that are not supported by the facts. Write a logical and persuasive argument that emphasizes how your project can help solve a problem or revolutionize a priority area that the funder is passionate about.
